April 2023: The start date for the Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) which are due to replace the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard (DoLS) has been delayed again by the Department of Health and Social Care. LPS is now unlikely to start until late 2025. There is also a possibility that it does not come into effect at all.
